7 Day Journey: "In the Foothills of the Alps"
*This is a sample itinerary. I will include hotel suggestions, restaurant recommendations, links to purchase tickets for tours/museums, and plan for whatever mode of transportation you prefer. Will also include estimated travel times/event times + costs. We'll work together to make the perfect vacation for you!
Day One:
-Flight into Turin, Italy
-Transfer to downtown Turin for 2-night stay.
-AM: Check into hotel, stroll up to historic Piazza Castello.
-Lunch at famous cafe and chocolatier: Baratti e Milano.
-PM: Visit to Egyptian Museum (2nd largest outside of Cairo)
-Shopping and strolling the pedestrian streets of the city center.
-Time to rest in hotel
-Aperitivo at Cafe Fiorio, Piazza Carignano
-Dinner in Piazza Vittorio overlooking the Po River.
Day Two:
Turin, Italy
-AM: Walk over to the Quadrilatero Romano for breakfast at the Cafe Bicerin to try a Torinese specialty!
-Visit the Royal Palace and Museum
-Lunch in Piazza San Carlo
-PM: Visit to Juventus Stadium or the FIAT Automobile Museum
-Free time to rest or shop
-Apericena in the historic center
-Nighttime guided tour of "Magic Turin"
Day 3:
-Moving into the Alps. Drive to Cogne (Grand Paradiso National Park)
-Check in to hotel and stop at local grocery store to pack a picnic lunch
-Hike in the Grand Paradiso to include a visit to the Lillaz waterfall.
-Evening: Dinner at hotel, with traditional Aostan polenta and stewed beef.
Day 4:
-Transfer to Courmayeur
-Check in to hotel and explore the quaint town in the shadow of Mont Blanc.
-Lunch in town al fresco!
-PM: Hike Mont Blanc with amazing views from Italy's highest peak.
-Dinner at a typical rustic lodge in Courmayeur
-Enjoy the nightlife in town.
Day 5:
-Moving to the Lakes Region. Transfer to Lago Maggiore (Baveno), 2.5 hours.
-AM: Drive to Baveno
-Noon: Check in to hotel on the shores of beautiful Lago Maggiore. Lunch outdoors at hotel.
-PM: Relax on the shores of the lake or hotel pool.
-Aperitivo in the center of Baveno.
-Dinner: Boat transfer to Isola Superiore for dinner with a panoramic view of Isola Bella.
Day 6:
-Spend the day on Lago Maggiore with a boat tour to visit the Borromean Islands.
-Late PM: lounge and aperitivo poolside back at the hotel.
-Dinner: Panoramic restaurant in Stresa.
Day 7:
-Depart from Milan
-Transfer to Milan Malpensa for journey home.
